Module 8 – Applying Chemical Ideas

Module 8: Applying Chemical Ideas is the fourth module of the new NSW HSC Chemistry curriculum.

In this module, students will learn about both qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques for inorganic and organic substances. In the last section of the module, students will explore various considerations and implications of chemical synthesis.

Analysis of Inorganic Substances

Inquiry Question: How are the ions present in the environment identified and measured?

    Analysis of Organic Substances

Inquiry Question: How is information about the reactivity and structure of organic compounds obtained?

    Chemical Synthesis and Design

Inquiry Question: What are the implications for society of chemical synthesis and design?
